In a little Jersey venue “down the shore,” Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, The Bouncing Souls and a host of other music acts had their first gigs. From rock to punk to a little-remembered electro phase, The Stone Pony has been an integral part of music history for decades. Join New Jersey-based Times reporter Nick Corasaniti, author of the venue’s oral history, as he digs deep into the Pony’s past, present and future with special guests, including Jack Roig, Stone Pony founder; Eileen Chapman, former manager of the Pony, Springsteen Archives director and current city councilwoman; Vini Lopez, Springsteen’s first drummer; and Caroline O’Toole, current manager of the Pony.
A brief acoustic performance by Southside Johnny will keep the house humming.
